About HWS

Hodag Water Shows (HWS) was organized and held its first show at Hodag Park on the shores of Boom Lake in 1971. Since 1971 HWS has been entertaining visitors at free shows twice a week featuring some of the area’s top water skiers. Every Sunday at 7:00 pm from mid-June until late August, plus the 4th of July, HWS performs a show that features acts such as ballet, jump, swivel skiing, trick skiing, barefooting, doubles, trios, wakeboarding, and pyramid.

Members range in age from 6 to almost 50 and some of the members have been with the team for more than 30 years. Concessions such as hot dogs, walking tacos, nachos, cotton candy, chips, beverages and many other snacks are available at each show.

2025 Summer Show Schedule

and Community Ski School

The Hodag Water Shows waterski team is excited to unveil its 2025

summer performance schedule, featuring a full lineup of

high-energy, family-friendly shows along the shores of Boom Lake

at Hodag Park in Rhinelander.

This season’s performances will take place on Sunday evenings

at 7 p.m. on the following dates:
June 15, June 22, June 29, July 6, July 13, July 20, July 27,

August 3, August 10, August 17, and August 24.

In addition to the regular schedule, the team will bring our unique brand of waterski entertainment to Pelican Lake with a special show on Saturday, July 12 at 7 p.m.

As part of its ongoing commitment to community involvement, the Hodag Water Shows team will also host its annual Waterski School from June 9–12. Sign-up closed on May 20.
