HWS is committed to teaching the next generation of members how to water ski. HWS provides instruction to beginner skiers of any age, although most participants range in age from 5 to 16. Our Learn to Skiers will first be taught about skiing safety after which they will progress to learn how to ski on two skies, including deep starts, and crossing the wakes. Ultimately, these skiers will be provided the opportunity learn how to slalom ski. These skills will allow them to move on to the Junior Development program.
The Junior Development program was created to teach young skiers the skills necessary to ultimately perform in the weekly water ski shows. To accomplish this, HWS administers a Junior Development program during additional practices held throughout the summer of 2019. Junior acts that are often included in the weekly shows include ballet, wakeboarding, knee boarding, trick skiing, flag line, and junior pyramid. The goal is to develop a level of proficiency in each of these acts so that the junior members are able to successfully transition into the main show acts.
Are you and your family looking for a fun summer activity? Love spending time on the water and catching a few rays? Then the Hodag Water Shows team is perfect for you! We are a family friendly show and have a team atmosphere!
We have members ranging in ages from 3 to 60 and they either ski or help at our shows! There are not many organizations where you can join as a family and everyone can participate. Even if water skiing isn't quite your thing, there are still plenty of ways to get involved! We can always use your help in the concession stand, on the dock, in the boats, and selling raffle tickets.
