About HWS

Hodag Water Shows (HWS) was organized and held its first show at Hodag Park on the shores of Boom Lake in 1971. Since 1971 HWS has been entertaining visitors at free shows twice a week featuring some of the area’s top water skiers. Every Sunday at 7:00 pm from mid-June until late August, plus the 4th of July, HWS performs a show that features acts such as ballet, jump, swivel skiing, trick skiing, barefooting, doubles, trios, wakeboarding, and pyramid.

Members range in age from 6 to almost 50 and some of the members have been with the team for more than 30 years. Concessions such as hot dogs, walking tacos, nachos, cotton candy, chips, beverages and many other snacks are available at each show.

2024 Summer Season

Hodag Water Show plans 11 shows

for community during summer of 2024

The Hodag Water Shows waterski team announced that it will be

opening the season with it's first show on Sunday, June 30 at 7 p.m.

at Hodag Park in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.

It will be one of 11 shows planned for this summer season by HWS.

The second show of the season right away is the annual Fourth

of July show on Thursday, July 4 at 7 p.m. We invite the

community to enjoy the holiday at Hodag Park with family and

friends and check out the show that evening, right before

the fireworks at the park.

We'll also be bringing you two shows a week starting in July with Wednesday shows on July 17, July 24 and July 31. It's a great way to spend your evenings if you are in the Northwoods vacationing at one of the many resorts or campgrounds!
